On Saturday, October 26, the Pawling Recreation Department held their annual Halloween Party in the Lathrop Building in Lakeside Park. The event boasted a record attendance from the community, who came out for an afternoon of tricks, treats, and spooky Halloween fun. Even local pets got in on the action with the first ever pet parade and costume contest.
“It’s more than just candy and costumes,” said Recreation Director Jessica Dickinson. “It’s having opportunities for special moments - when we smile, laugh, help each other though scary haunted hallways, lend a hand with a project, dance together, give a needed hug, or compliment each other. The Rec Department would like to give special thanks to all of our volunteers, candy contest participants, and especially Interact Club of Pawling, DJ Benny, Vintage Spooky, Jane Haslam Photography, The Pawling Library, Mizzentop Day School, The Imperial Castle, Town of Pawling, Town Supervisor James Schmitt, Pet Valu, Hannaford Supermarkets, and the Make A Day Project. We are grateful for all the support which allows us to keep bringing recreation programs and events like this to you.”
Pawling Rec’s Halloween Party was bigger and better than ever this year.
Rosie the Caterpillar took home the top prize at the first ever Halloween Pet Parade.
