Jacque’s Spin on Music Live Music in the Lower Harlem Valley

July 13, 2019

Saturday, July 13 is the 32nd Annual Pawling Triathlon and Community Day with music playing a big part in the Lakeside Park festivities. Blue Alien Mystic starts at 2:00 p.m. followed by Wading Nine and Mr. Coffee. “Music on the Lake” continues at 6:00 p.m. featuring Fat City Rockers. The popular band, performing rockin blues, surf and rockabilly is returning to inaugurate the Free 2019 Summer Concert Series.

Who remembers Pioneering Woodstock performer Melanie with hit songs "Brand New Key" and "Lay Down"?  If you’d like to relive some of those music memories, send an email to jacquesgiantshow@gmail.com. I’ve got a brand new pair of tickets if you’re interested in attending her 8 pm performance at Daryl’s House Club July 26.

Into jazz?  The modern jazz quintet, Haven Street is at The Barn at Quaker Hill July 18. Music starts at 7:00 p.m. and is the perfect backdrop for dinner and the best sunset in town.  However, I hope your Thursday evening doesn’t end when the sun goes down. Sessions on East Main Live debuts that night at Pawling Public Radio. The series spotlights independent musicians and is performed before a live studio audience. The public is invited to come enjoy the live music in our climate-controlled performance space at 26 East Main St, Pawling from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.  The four-concert series is broadcast live via TheBeatoftheValley.com and PawlingPublicRadio.org from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. every third Thursday from July to October.  The July 18 program features Quadrasaurus and special guest Matt Crossett.

I’m always on the lookout for more local musicians.  Have a band recommendation, let me know and please “Like” me on FB @JacquesGiantShow.
