The annual Patterson Book Sale is returning again this year thanks to the Patterson Volunteer Fire Department. Last year’s sale was a big success due to the amazing number of donations and enthusiastic support from the community, despite the temperamental weather. The Fire Department hopes to make this year’s event even better to help benefit the restoration of their historic 1958 Mack Fire Engine.
The book sale will be held in the pavilion on the Fire Department grounds, located at 13 Burdick Road, across from the library on Route 311 in Patterson. The sale dates will run from Saturday, September 21 through Sunday, September 29.
The Patterson Fire Department will start collecting donations on Saturday, August 10. People can drop off books, DVDs, Blue-Ray movies, CDs, or vinyl LPs in a storage container located near the pavilion on the firehouse grounds. It would be helpful if children's books, fiction, and non-fiction books are brought in separate bags or boxes. The Fire Department will not accept magazines, textbooks, mildewed or damaged books, or cassettes. The only VHS tapes that will be accepted are those from Disney, but they must be in good condition.
