On Saturday, June 15, at the first Annual Pawling Block Party, The Tangible Agency rolled out a new community initiative, ExplorePawling.com, a website resource chock-full of events and activity information for all area residents and visitors.
The Explore Pawling website is primarily a community events calendar pulling together all the local events in one place. From festivals and fairs to workshops and nature walks, ExplorePawling.com puts the area events in the palm of your hand for easy planning and sharing.
“The idea behind Explore Pawling came from our workshop schedule at the agency,” explains Tangible owner, Chris Shaw. “We were trying to choose dates for our workshop series and realized we had no way of knowing what other events were going on in the village besides visiting everyone’s site. We built Explore Pawling to help businesses and visitors find everything in one place.”
The team at Explore Pawling is constantly scouring the community and Internet to find Pawling events and add them to the calendar. For local merchants, this is a real value because most small businesses don’t necessarily have the time or budget to get the word out about their events and activities. For residents and visitors, events are easily sorted by Family, Nature, Music, and other categories so you can find exactly what you’re looking for. According to Shaw, “We felt it was basically a win-win for everyone, and so far the response has been fantastic!” Businesses can easily submit event information on ExplorePawling.com, so it stays up-to-date and current.
In addition to the web component, Explore Pawling recently collaborated with the Village of Pawling to design a much-needed Village Map that highlights the hotspots of Pawling Village, including shopping, dining and accommodations. According to Lauri Taylor, the Village Trustee who spearheaded the initiative with Explore Pawling, “We are so excited to bring this map to the community. We feel like it is a tremendous advantage to our business community, residents and visitors. It encourages people to visit our beautiful village and at the same time, highlights everything we have to offer and supports our local businesses.”
The combination of these two resources makes it easy for the community to grow and be explored. To see the calendar of events, visit ExplorePawling.com online or follow Explore Pawling @explorepawling on Facebook and Instagram. You can also visit the Explore Pawling team at the upcoming Community Day on Saturday, July 13, where they will host a village-wide scavenger hunt with giveaways and freebies every hour.
