Jacque’s Spin on Music - Live Music in the Lower Harlem Valley

May 31, 2019

The warmer weather has arrived, live music festivals are happening, and we’ve got 22 weekends to pack it all in! The following are some FREE events in June I’d like to tell you about.

The 2019 Brewster Music Festival is Saturday, June 8. This free family event is a short drive from Pawling Village to Wells Park, 98 Oak Street, Brewster. The opening act takes the stage at 11:45 a.m., kicking off seven hours of non-stop notes in the park’s natural amphitheater. You can look forward to enjoying five Hudson Valley bands and the acoustic songwriters entertaining between sets. Please visit the website, www.brewstermusicfestival.com for complete details.

I’m happy to report that the Pawling Farmers Market returns to the Village Saturday, June 15. The music calendar is set and you’re in for an ear treat every weekend. June will feature Bob Stump (6/15), Don Lowe (6/22) and Mark Miller (6/29).

Pawling’s 1st Annual Block Party is also on Saturday, June 15, and will feature a variety of bands from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m. Space Dog has confirmed they are kicking off the party at 1:00 p.m. Pawling Public Radio listeners might recognize band member, Justin Offerman. On Thursday nights at 6:00 p.m. Justin is the host of “The Good Ol Grateful Dead Radio Show.” I can’t wait to catch Justin and Space Dog on stage!

We all know Daryl’s House Club has a full month of great music on the calendar. If you haven’t had a chance to get there yet, I might be able to help with that, with a pair of tickets for The Nerds on Thursday June 6, or Jake Shimabukuro on Thursday, June 13. Please send me an email if you’d like to see either of these shows. If you see me at any of these events in June, please come up and say hello. I’d love to meet you!
