Jacque’s Spin on Music - Live Music in the Lower Harlem Valley

We made it! Winter is finally letting go with longer days and warmer nights. Pawling’s live music calendar is bursting, and I’m looking forward to the Valley being filled with the sound of music.

Naturally, I have been planting seeds of my own at Daryl’s House Club for this month. On April 17, Americana Songwriter Hall of Fame Inductee Chip Taylor is throwing a CD release party for his 40th album, “Whiskey Salesman” with a vinyl give away during his after-show meet and greet. The following Wednesday, April 24, two impressive Blues guitar-centric bands will perform on a co-bill. The Blue Confusion is starting the night off at 7:00 p.m. Immediately following, guitar virtuoso Dave Fields and his band will close out the night. Also in April, Americana band Pluck and Rail is returning to the renowned stage for a noontime brunch performance on Saturday, April 27.

Another live music event I am looking forward to this spring is the Rock n’ Run 5K to fight Lyme Disease on Sunday, May 5, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeside Park. The PHS Band, Wading Nine and Blue Alien Mystic are among the nine bands positioned along the route to motivate the participants and entertain the spectators. Visit their website (PawlingRec.com) for complete information. Thank you for reading. Enjoy the music-filled spring in the Lower Harlem Valley!
