The past five weeks have flown by in a frenzy of in-studio interviews and live music performances. On February 7, songwriter and host of Thai Golden’s open mic in Carmel Omar Ramirez, along with his 1122 duo partner, Kimmi Christen, were joined by Kenny Young (aka rapper Son Soul) in the studio. I enjoyed their original music and urge you to catch Omar’s open mic Friday, April 5.
A great time was had by all March 6 to celebrate my 100th Show Jamboree at Daryl’s House Club. If you haven’t visited this destination venue, the free Acoustic Brunch on Saturday or Sunday is enthusiastically suggested. This Saturday, March 16, catch the Dan Zlotnick Trio. This original Hudson Valley band will be performing from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Another show I’m excited about this month is when Songwriter Hall of Fame Inductee and Godfather of Americana Music Chip Taylor takes to the stage on Wednesday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m.
New additions to the “Spin on Music” are below for McGrath’s and The Tap House Tavern. Tina’s Rest in Holmes will feature live music on Saturday, March 23 and the 30, when they are hosting Niteshade, a fun Hudson Valley band I had the pleasure of interviewing in May 2018.
I am grateful that you are streaming Jacque’s Giant Music Show on Thursday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on TheBeatoftheValley.com or watching the behind the scene antics on FaceBookLive. I could not do this work without the support of live music lovers such as you! If you are hosting live music, please reach out for a possible feature in next month’s column by emailing JacquesGiantShow@gmail.com.
