The Pawling Concert Series will present Camerata RCO, a group of seven musicians from the Netherlands, on April 12. Formed by members of Amsterdam's famed Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Camerata RCO performs chamber music with a special focus on the classical and romantic repertoire for winds and strings. The concert, which is sponsored by M&T Bank, will take place at 8:00 pm at Gardiner Theater on the campus of Trinity Pawling School.
It is for the love of chamber music that these musicians take time out of their busy schedules as members of one of the world's great orchestras to perform together as Camerata RCO. Praised by the New York Times for their "warm, glowing performance," the ensemble has enjoyed tremendous success in the Netherlands and abroad, and now performs around 50 concerts a season internationally. In Pawling, they will play works by Mozart, Brahms and Dohnányi.
Tickets are available on line at www.pawlingconcertseries.org, at the Book Cove in Pawling Village, and at the door on the night of the concert. Adult tickets are $30; children 12 and under are admitted without charge.
The Pawling Concert Series is presented, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature, and through funding from Dutchess Tourism, administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.
In addition, this series has been generously underwritten by: Andron Construction, Castagna Realty, and Joseph Meunier & Sons. For further information on the Pawling Concert Series, including directions and future concerts, visit www.pawlingconcertseries.org.
