Pawling Public Radio (WPWL) is hosting its fourth annual “Chili Cook-Off” on Saturday, February 16. The event takes place at the Pawling Firehouse on South Street in the Village from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
There will be two cooking categories: with meat and without. Entries will be judged on taste, consistency, and aroma. Amateur cooks 21 years of age or older may enter up to three chilies, but each will count as one entry. The fee to enter is $20 for each chili. First place winners in each category will receive a $100 cash prize, a plaque, and bragging rights. There will also be certificates for 2nd and 3rd place, and People’s Choice.
An entrance fee of $10 per person at the door will be charged for those just tasting. Kids under 10 and adults over 65 are free! There will be chili samples, live music, local judges, and a raffle fundraiser. Raffle prizes will include four tickets to see Disney on Broadway’s Frozen, and one hour on a real Flight Simulator.
