Next month, the third annual Pawling Human Library will be held on Tuesday, February 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Pawling Middle School. A joint venture between the Pawling Library and Pawling Central School District, the event invites community members to become Human Books who will share their stories with guests to the event.
Human Books will share their stories with a small group, usually consisting of up to four guests, for twenty minutes. Books can speak on whatever topic they choose, and the event is designed to foster an authentic learning experience between community members and PCSD educators.
“So many people in this community have interesting stories and ideas to share,” says Pawling Library Director Brian Avery. “The Human Library Project is a great way to learn more about your neighbors and yourself through conversation.” So far, nearly 30 volunteers have signed up to be Human Books. Registration will remain open through Saturday, February 2.
