The Pawling Resource Center (PRC) held its annual Thank You Breakfast for its many volunteers on Wednesday, August 8, in Lankler Hall at Christ Church on Quaker Hill. More than 50 community members who donated time to the Center gathered to enjoy quiche, bagels, smoked salmon, fruit salad, and assorted muffins. All were welcomed by PRC Board Chair Rev. Mark Allan, Pastor of Christ Church. Executive Director Terry Ariano then spoke to the gathering, thanking everyone for their service.
In 2017, PRC volunteers donated nearly 2,000 hours of service in the office and food pantry, drove over 22,300 miles to bring people to medical appointments, and provided additional hours transporting food and assisting the Center with other programs. Those who contributed the most hours in each of these categories received a gift certificate to Vinny’s Deli.
The breakfast was organized by the Events Committee of the PRC Board of Directors, as well as Terry Ariano. Committee members include Ann Godesky, Susan Smith, Dorlaine McLaughlin-Judy, and Susan Stone. Donations to the event were made by Vinny’s Deli, Dutchess Coffee, and Mahaffey’s, as well as PRC Board members. Small gifts of Crown Maple syrup were given to each volunteer as a token of appreciation.
The PRC is always in need of volunteers. Those wishing to donate time may contact Terry Ariano at (845) 855-3459.
