The Pawling Farmers Market will return for its 11th season on Saturday, June 16. The Market is a cornerstone of the community during the summer in Pawling, and this season promises to continue the tradition of providing locally sourced foods and access to artisan vendors. This year, the Pawling Farmers Market will be under the direction of Betsy Montgomery.
This summer, visitors to the Market will have access to more than 35 vendors offering an array of fresh produce, prepared foods, fruit, poultry, coffee, and farm-fresh eggs. Vendors will include Belstalk Farm, Cardoso Cookies, Coast to Coast Dog Treats, Dan Madura Farm, Dutchess Coffee Company, Dykeman Farm, Farm to Jar, Grape Hollow Farm, Growing Heart Farm, Happy Acres Farm, High Five Pies, Hu
dson-Chatham Winery, Meadowland Farm, New Confectioner, Pawling Bread Company, Pickle Licious, Silver Cricket Farm, Trapani Orchards, Wave Hill Bread, Wholey Oats, Wingnut Flowers, and Z Farms. Several of the farm vendors also participate in the Farmers Market Nutrition Program, including Dan Madura Farm, Dykeman Farm, Meadowland Farm, Trapani Farm, and Z Farms, which is also certified organic.
Each week will include a rotating selection of special artisan vendors. This season, the Pawling Farmers Market will host vendors from ArtEast Dutchess, Daffodil Press, Emergent Jewel, Garden Greetings, Harvest Spirits, Jeanne Plekon, Living Edge Designs, The Slab, and Vintage Terrariums.
For opening day on June 16, the Market will provide several special attractions to usher in the new season. Two by Two Petting Zoo will return, sponsored by The Book Cove. The traveling zoo features goats, a tortoise, potbellied pigs, and a kangaroo – and was a big hit with children and parents alike last year. Opening day will also feature music by Donald T. Lowe, sponsored by Daryl’s House Club, and a booth with representatives of the Oblong Land Conservancy. Artisans for June 16 will be Jeanette Rodrigues, Lilymoore Alpaca Farm, and Lori Adams Photography.
This summer, the Pawling Farmers Market will hold its biannual fundraiser with a “Farm to Table” Dinner on Saturday, August 25, to benefit the Market’s future success. “The Farm to Table dinner will continue our tradition of a delicious menu sourced from our vendors at the peak of the season,” says Market President Betsy Montgomery. “It’s always a fun evening with live music in a beautiful setting and a great way to support the Market.”
The Pawling Farmers Market will be open every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on the Village Green and will run from June 16 through September 29. For more information visit PawlingFarmersMarket.org online.
