Music lovers looking for some lively foot-tapping fun will find it on April 27, 2018 when the Pawling Concert Series closes out its 44th Season with the Galvanized Jazz Band.
The concert will be held at 8:00 p.m. at McGraw Pavilion on the campus of Trinity Pawling School. The concert is sponsored by Bottini Fuel, KG+D Architects, and M&T Bank. Tickets are available at the Book Cove in Pawling Village, at the door, and online at pawlingconcertseries.org. Adult tickets are $30; children 12 and under are admitted without charge.
The Galvanized Jazz Band plays hot Dixieland, New Orleans jazz, blues, rags, and stomps with classic popular songs from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. The band – cornet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, tuba, string bass, keyboard and drums, spiced up with vocalists – has been recognized by Connecticut Magazine as the “Best Jazz Band in the State.” The group will perform in a relaxed “coffee house” setting with tables, snacks and plenty of room for dancing.
The Pawling Concert Series is presented, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the NYS Legislature, and through funding from Dutchess Tourism, administered by Arts Mid-Hudson. In addition, this series has been generously underwritten by: Andron Construction, Castagna Realty, Joseph Meunier & Sons, and Joe Pietryka Inc.
