In recent months, local wine and liquor aficionados may have been noticing some exciting changes at Wineology.
Located at 158 Route 22 in Pawling in the Hannaford Supermarket plaza, the business has seen new ownership take over to continue the operation’s ten-year tradition of supplying fine wines and spirits to the community.
When the ownership of Wineology changed hands in April, the establishment immediately began making innovative changes to both prices and selection. In three months, the store’s inventory of wine and liquor doubled, with many prices reduced. Mr. Yu Chan Lin is the new owner. His brother Andy is frequently in the store greeting customers and providing tips on smart wine choices at affordable prices.
The 3500-square-foot store boasts the most extensive selection of wines in the area, including organic options, and more than 30 varieties of rosé during the summer months. The staff also believe in the importance of listening to customer requests to satisfy every need. “If we don’t have what you’re looking for, we’ll certainly do our best to get it,” says store manager Lou Ingles, who is in his third year managing the establishment. Wineology also periodically hosts in-store tastings from different distributors and is proud to be the only wines and spirits shop in the area that offers home delivery for cases of wine or orders over $100. In addition to their selection of wines and spirits, customers can also find a variety of glassware, accessories, gift bags, and barware.
The management at Wineology understands the importance of community involvement, and seeks to remain deeply ingrained in life in Pawling. Staff members have been involved in hosting private wine tastings at many local homes on Quaker Hill for parties and special events. The business is also actively involved in donating to the Pawling Resource Center and other local charitable organizations in the community. Wineology also benefits from communication with local hotspot McKinney and Doyle. “We always try to sell the same selection here. If you like drinking it at McKinney and Doyle, we want to make sure you can buy it here,” says Mr. Ingles.
As Wineology prepares for the future under new ownership, customers can expect a continuation of the business’s proven record of customer service and community involvement. Business hours are 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. For more information please visit the Pawling Wineology Facebook page.
