James Schmitt, Town Supervisor

Why are you running for this office?

I’m running for office to assist in the positive development of Pawling and to keep our community moving forward.

What are your qualifications for the position?

I’m a young business owner with a fast-growing company who has weathered the storm through a difficult economy and showed positive growth each year. I would like to bring those same work ethics and results to Pawling politics.

What do you hope to accomplish, if elected?

I would like to complete the development of our parks and encourage new development in our town. Also build some much needed trust in our community with our elected officials.

What is your educational background?

Pawling High School graduate, 1998; Dutchess Community College.

What else would you like voters to know about you – your family, pastimes, special interests or activities?

I’m the middle child of 11 kids, all from Pawling. My father is a Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam. I grew up working on our small family-run farm and playing sports as a Pawling Tiger! I have an overwhelming love for this town, which I hope to bring some great positive energy back to the community.
