Barbara Tyson, Town Tax Collector
Why are you running for this office?

What are your qualifications for the position?
Having 16 years of experience, I am fortunate to meet and get to know many residents and their families in our community on a personal level.
What do you hope to accomplish, if elected?
I plan to continue providing quality, efficient and prompt service to our residents, their banks, and tax service organizations. While keeping my website (http://egov.basgov.com/ pawling) updated promptly, with the current property tax payments that I receive each year, thus enabling our residents access to this information 24 hours a day.

I am a graduate of St. Catherine Academy and completed several college courses while employed at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
What else would you like voters to know about you – your family, pastimes, special interests or activities?
I have been coming to Pawling as a summer resident since I was three years old and a full-time resident of Pawling for over 40 years. I have raised my two daughters in our beautiful community and now am fortunate to watch my three granddaughters grow up here. My family keeps me involved with the youth of our community, as my son-in-law coaches many of the sports teams in Pawling, and my daughter is a leader of two Girl Scout troops in Pawling. I am a member of St. Johns R.C. Church and a member of the NY State Tax Collectors organization.
I thank you for the kindness and confidence you have shown me these past 16 years, and I look forward to serving our community for the next four years.
