The 2016 – 2017 school year was a special one for Christ Church Nursery School as we celebrated 15 years of preschool education. The school began with the goal of providing quality programming for children, their families and the greater community. As we look back over the past 15 years, our goal has been accomplished through the incredible staff and families that make up our school as well as the support received from the community. Our Parent Committee provides our families with social opportunities throughout the year including a Family Game Night, Family Craft Night, Cookies and Milk with Santa and the annual Scholastic Book Fair.
This school year was filled with the typical daily activities, including painting, singing, building, playing, reading, creating and exploring. We offered many different Enrichment classes, including Pizza Making, Turkey Math, Growing Things Science, Let’s Learn About Picasso and others. It was also filled with special activities including visits from local artists and authors, the Pawling Fire Department and special activity days with the Pawling High School Peer Leaders. Our beautiful outdoor space is used most days for running and playing, water play and group games as well as our beautiful children’s garden, which is filled with flowers and vegetables. Throughout our days, we strive to teach our children friendship, compassion, and kindness as they explore their world knowing that this is how children learn.
As we move into our next 15 years, we intend to continue our work of educating preschoolers and creating a nurturing, learning environment for the children, their families and our community.
